so having done my research i can share the following..

Yes you can and in fact aA study found that combining orange juice with eggs increases how much Iron you absorb from the eggs.

There are also no known negative effects from combining cooked or raw eggs with orange juice.

It will come down to how much you can stomach the taste and texture.

Interestingly, a raw egg and orange juice smoothie is also known as an ‘Orange Julius’.

It’s also the name of a popular smoothie chain, where the smoothie was invented.

But, most people say that you can get Salmonella from eating raw eggs and I wanted to know if there are any other benefits to combining eggs with orange juice.

Although, Salmonella bacteria can make you sick and causes diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, fever, and shivers.

It is very rare to get Salmonella from raw eggs.

It used to be the case that people would discourage people from eating cookie dough, or licking the bowl used to make a cake mix because it’s made with raw eggs.

But, the actual statistics show that the chance you will get Salmonella from raw eggs is 0.02%, according to Slate.com.

Equal to about a one in 1 in 5000 chance.

Which is a really really low and although it is possible, you shouldn’t worry about it, or let it discourage you from eating cookie dough, or making a raw egg and orange juice smoothie.

Is It Considered Healthy To Drink A Glass Of Orange Juice With Cooked Eggs

It’s perfectly fine to drink a glass of orange juice with cooked eggs.

Whether they’re scrambled, hard-boiled, sunny side up, poached, deep fried, or baked.

My personal favorite is cooked all the way through.

The study I mentioned about the raw eggs looked at cooked eggs as well.

So, whether your eggs are cooked all the way through, or slightly runny it’s healthy to drink a glass of orange juice with them.

What Happens When You Put An Egg In Orange Juice?

What Happens When You Put An Egg In Orange Juice

Although eating all kinds of fruits, especially oranges is healthy.

If you combine acidic fruits like oranges, limes, or lemons with milk, the milk ‘cooks’ in the acid.

You might have done this yourself, as an experiment or by mistake and noticed that the milk turns clumpy and changes it’s consistency to something that looks like yoghurt.

There is also a famous fish dish found in Hawaii, the Pacific Islands, and Peru that is made with lemon juice and raw fish called ceviche.

When it’s made the raw fish gets cooked by the acid in the lemon.

I thought a similar thing might happen to an egg if you plop it into a glass of orange juice, or make a smoothie out of them in a blender.

But, it doesn’t.

Nothing much of anything happens, it just sits there like if you were to simply put an egg in water.

Eggs And Orange Juice Benefits

The benefits or adding some eggs to a glass of orange juice or having a glass of orange juice with cooked eggs are:

  • It provides slow and fast releasing energy
  • It’s a fast way to eat eggs
  • It tastes great (ok that’s debatable)

1. It provides slow and fast releasing energy

Eggs have a good amount of protein which releases energy slowly and evenly, according to Healthline.com, and the high sugar content of oranges gives you a quick burst of energy.

So, if you’re feeling a bit low in energy, and need a bit of a boost.

But, you also want it to last a long time, then an orange juice and egg smoothie is a good way to go.

2. It’s a fast way to eat eggs

Most people have eggs in the pantry, and you might be a bit lazy to fry them up.

Or, you might have woken up late, and don’t have time to make a full eggs benedict.

Which makes blending some eggs with orange juice a really good option.

If you have a thermos, or a protein shaker you can quickly pour it in and take it with you. And you can drink it on the way to work.

The combination of orange juice with the eggs will give you a good amount of energy until your next meal.

Also, many body builders or guys and gals trying to improve their physique need to get in a good amount of protein and calories throughout the day to reach their body goals.

Eggs are quite high in both protein and calories compared to other foods.

I saw in a video from a famous Youtuber bodybuilder, that he eats 6 eggs every day in the morning for breakfast.

So, if you want to save time you can just blend them up a blender, then drink them on the go.

Or, have it as a nice refreshing smoothie next to your desk.

There are a bunch of spices and other things you can add to it, to make it extra delicious.

One recipe I found was this one, put together by the kitchn.com.

3. It tastes great

Some people find orange juice quite sour and tangy. And the high amount of sugar can make you feel jittery, or cause you to have a sugar crash.

It’s also not as satisfying as say a smoothie packed with protein powder or bananas.

So, the eggs balance how sour the orange juice is which is way nicer to drink -one of the main benefits of drinking an egg and orange juice smoothie.

Also cooked eggs on toast can be quite dry.

And it’s nice to sip on a nice drink such as coffee, tea, or a fresh fruit juice like orange juice.

Citrus and savory foods go well together, for example if you’re ever tried orange chicken.

And a glass of orange juice with some lightly salted eggs goes down a treat.

How Many Eggs Can You Eat In A day And Still Be healthy?

How Many Eggs Can You Eat In A day And Still Be healthy

According to Healthline.com, if you eat eggs daily you shouldn’t eat more than 3 eggs everyday.

However, it does depend on how healthy you are overall, and how much exercise you do.

For example, if you’re a professional athlete or fitness model, you will workout really hard 3 or more times per week.

Which greatly increases the health of the circulatory systems found in your heart, and major organs.

You’ll also watch your diet, and are likely on a strict meal plan, which means your body won’t be under as much strain from a poor diet.

So, eating more eggs is probably fine.

Compared to a normal person who does hardly any exercise, and doesn’t eat that healthy, 3 eggs a day maximum, in my opinion I agree with Healthline that it’s a good recommendation.
