All of which are healthy for the body.

They also contain a medium amount of fiber which is good for the digestive system.

Carrots, particularly roasted, or fried carrots are incredibly delicious, and many people also really like drinking carrot juice.

Carrots are a good snack for losing weight.

Carrots are low in calories relative to their weight.

This means you can eat a lot of them, without reaching the recommended amount of calories per day.

They also contain a high amount of vitamin A which is very good for your skin.

1 average-sized carrot contains 25 calories.

This is roughly 1% of the recommended daily intake (RDI) of calories.

Most people can eat around 3 to 4 carrots before they don’t feel like eating anymore.

This accounts for around 3% to 4% of the RDI of calories.

A calorie deficit means you consume fewer calories than your body needs.

Various foods are calorie-dense. For example, chocolate, rice, and potatoes.

Although, these foods can be good if you’re trying to put on muscle. B

ut, if you’re trying to lose fat, they need to be watched very closely.

Generally, the best strategy is to create a spreadsheet with the calories for each type of food that you like to eat.

Then see what the total is for the day.

Based on that you can tinker with your diet so that you are in a calorie deficit.

Carrots are very low in calories compared to other foods.

Here’s a table that shows how carrots compare to other foods:

Food Calories per 3.4 oz (100g) = half a cup
Chocolate 546 calories
Peanut butter 588 calories
Rice 130 calories
Potatoes 77 calories
Carrots 41 calories
Celery 14 calories
Chicken breast 165 calories
Cheese 402 calories
Hummus 166 calories
Chickpeas 364 calories
Kidney beans 334 calories
Carrot cake 415 calories

As you can see, there is a wide variation in the calories that different foods have.

I purposefully chose some foods that I knew were high in calories so that you can see that calories are comparatively low in calories compared to what is possible in some foods.

It’s important to note that the amount of calories shown in the table is for the same weight of each food.

Not for an individual carrot or block of chocolate.

Here’s a video that shows how to calculate calories to lose weight:

Carrots are also very high in vitamin A. Vitamin A is very good for the appearance and health of your skin.

I explained this in more detail in this article that explains if carrots make your skin glow .

How do carrots fit in with the rest of your diet to lose weight?

From the data, you can see that chocolate, peanut butter, and cheese can easily make you put on weight.

And make it difficult for you to lose weight.

Therefore, you need to be selective about what foods you eat to lose weight.

Fruits and vegetables for the most part are relatively low in calories.

A good idea for a snack involving carrots is to make carrot sticks and dip them in hummus.

Although hummus is quite high in calories, you won’t use it much and it really adds a lot of flavor to carrots.

Another option is to eat some fried or boiled carrots on their own with some salt, and pepper as a snack.

Either way, they are very low in calories provided you don’t add things to give them more flavor that are very high in calories.

Such as carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

Not only does it have the extra calories from the added sugar.

But, it also has cheese as icing which is high in calories.

Any of these high-calorie foods can still be enjoyed provided you’re aware of how many calories you’re consuming, and how it affects your total daily calorie intake.

Therefore, carrots can play a role in helping you lose belly fat.

But, won’t cause you to lose belly fat all on their own.

Carrots can be a great substitute for other foods that you would eat that are higher in calories.

Such as a chocolate bar, or some cookies.

The sweet taste of these foods trigger the reward centers in your brain.

And often it can be difficult to stop eating them.

And if you’re anything like me you’ve eaten a whole block of chocolate or enough cookies to make you feel sick quite often.

At the end of the day, you can still enjoy these foods.

But, you just need to calculate it in so that doing so doesn’t put you over the number of calories that will cause you to lose weight.

Carrot juice can also make a great snack.

It takes about 10 carrots to make 1 cup of carrot juice.

One class of carrot juice contains around 240 calories.

Which isn’t very much at all, and for an average female would equal 10% of the RDI of calories.

And for an average male, it equals about 6% of the RDI of calories.

Carrot juice is also high in beneficial vitamins and minerals.

I explained all about carrot juice and what to watch out for when drinking it in this article about if it’s ok to drink carrot juice everyday.
